Ok, ok, it's been a while.

I know I've been away for a while. I'm going to try to update this on a regular basis now. At least once a week.

This shirt, entitled "Spacebound" is a pretty neat design. To me it's much like an astronaut traveling in another dimension. A sort of weird neon place with odd geometric shapes just hanging out. Kind of like a Stranger in a Strangeland type deal. Right now it's on sale for $15. You can use the coupon code BACK2SCHOOL12 for free domestic shipping, which is a better deal than their normal 10% off coupon DBH10 which doesn't work on sale items to begin with.

Threadless Tee Roundup!

Sorry I've been away so long.

Threadless is having a sale until March 30th. Use code MARCH50 to get 50% off on sales over $25.

Lonely Man $20($10 after coupon code)
Just a lonely astronaut sitting on a meteor, playing songs about home.

Void $20($10 after coupon)
This one's pretty cool, since it has an astronaut pretty much worm holing it's way through your body.

Here are the ones I've covered before but are on sale now.
The Guest $20($10 after coupon)

The Madness of Mission 6 $20($10 after coupon)

Funkalicious $20($10 after coupon)

Astro Dogs $20($10 after coupon)

The Guest

I love what's going on in this t-shirt here. It's an astronaut giving a  balloon to a giant creature of some kind. Very innocent, like the little girl who gives Frankenstein's monster a flower. It's pricey at $20, and is sold out in Girl's sizes. Wait for a sale.

Cosmonaut

A tribute to the true first astro/cosmonauts in the history of space exploration. The first space monkey was Alberto, a rhesus monkey who died of suffocation during his first flight in 1948, aboard a V2 rocket (thanks Hitler!). Here's a great website about monkeys and other animals that have gone to space to further our knowledge of space exploration.

RELEASE : 12-024

Astronaut Application Deadline Approaching

HOUSTON -- Individuals interested in becoming America's future space explorers have until Friday to submit their applications. The deadline to apply for NASA's next astronaut class is Jan. 27.

The agency typically receives as many as 3,500 applicants for each astronaut class. Thus far, NASA has received more than 3,000 applications since November for this class.

"We are excited about the response we have received, and we want to encourage anyone contemplating this dynamic and exciting career to apply," said Peggy Whitson, chief of the Astronaut Office. "We are entering a new phase in human spaceflight with amazing opportunities to live and work in space. We want the best, the brightest and the most talented mix of professionals to join our team."

Those interested in applying for the astronaut corps can submit their applications through the federal government's USAJobs.gov website. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in engineering, science or math and three years of relevant professional experience. Educators teaching kindergarten through 12th grade also are encouraged to apply.

NASA expects to announce the final selections in 2013 with initial training to begin that summer.

For more information about the astronaut application and selection process and to follow the latest news via NASA accounts on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, visit:

Voyage

This is a really cool looking shirt.  It's an astronaut peering out through a haze of clouds and geometric shapes. Sort of touching on the depth of science and mathematics that are both the tools and obstacles to exploring space. Then again, who is to say there isn't a cloud of shapes just floating around space ready to jack your shit up. It's pricey at $20, so wait for a sale. It's also men's only.

The Intergalactic Collection

I think this shirt is glorious. First of all, the Mercury era space suit is very minimalist and bad ass, in my opinion. I do love the current generation space suit as it's made for actual space walks and planetary exploration, but you  have to admit the Mercury era space suit is a beautiful thing. I love the idea of a fashionable space suit on a catalog or fashion magazine. This is the kind of thing that was written about in the old sci-fi novels when they thought space travel would be as common as transatlantic flights. With the advent of privatized space flights, it won't be long until we see some kind of Virgin Galactic/D&G team up.

Threadless Sale

There is a sale going on at Threadless right now. There are four Astronaut shirts on sale so far, in addition to others.
"The Madness of Mission 6" is $12.50 for Guys. $49 for a hoody for Girls and Guys. No Girls tee available.

"Astro Dogs" is $12.50 for Guys, Girls, Babies, and Kids. I don't think I've posted this shirt before, but it's a two for. Animals and Astronauts, plus the one dog is trying to sniff the others butt. But this is not possible as the are wearing space suits.

"I Don't Care What Science Says" is on sale for $12.50 for Guys and Kids, but is $20 for girls. Limited sizes left.

"The Politburo Explains" is on sale for $9.50 for Guys and Girls. There are limited sizes available for guys.

This last shirt is not an astronaut shirt, but supports a very important cause. It is also on sale. 25% of the sale of this tee will support the DNA Foundation's mission to end child sex slavery and human trafficking.
"Freed" is on sale for $12.50 for Guy and Girls. Limited sizes availble for girls.

Yes my lion!

This shirt is pretty neat. It's a lion astronaut, which is a twofor as far as getting a "cat" and astronaut in the mix. If you want to delve deeper, it's the evolution of the lion into an animal race capable of space exploration, which would be pretty bad ass. Lion's exploring space, eating animals from other planets. Not too different than what we humans will end up doing.

Also, if you search "lion astronaut" on Google, this is the second link you will get this:

I don't care what science says!

This shirt is great. It's definitely one of the few recent changes in modern science that actually stirred up a bit of controversy in the public.  People actually cared that Pluto was no longer considered an official planet under the 2006 guidelines set forth by the International Astronomical Union (IAU). Although technically, it's one of 40 dwarf planets, or planetoids that we have in our solar system. Still, I wore this once on a Sunday funday and got quite a few reactions.
